Swiftstrike and Kindlepaw were going hunting and they ran into Snowkit on their way out. She was bored because her littermates were alseep and she wasn't alowed to wake them. Swiftstrike told Snowkit to stay in camp, but Kindlepaw felt bad for her. Swiftstrike insisted on making her stay in camp, reccomending perhaps she could find a mossball or a leaf to play with. Swiftstrike and Kindlepaw left, leaving Snowkit all alone. But Snowkit didn't want to stay in camp. She wanted to hunt. She snuck out, following the warrior and apprentice's scent trail, later realising that she'd be caught if she did that, so she went far off in another direction. She ran into another kit, who appeared to be a loner. Her name was Luna. The two she-kits got into a fight over who had the dumbest name, when they heard a rustle from the bushes. A rogue named Scorch appeared, threatening to eat the kits, as he hadn't seen food in weeks. Snowkit got defensive of her new friend, but Luna jumped away and scratched Scorch's nose. Scorch got angry so he picked Luna up by the tail and flung her into a tree, bending it. Snowkit wailed for Swiftstrike, not caring if he knew she was out of camp. Just after she wailed, Scorch bit her throat and scratched her shoulders to ensure damage. Swiftstrike and Kindlepaw came to the rescue and attacked Scorch brutally. Wolfspirit also came running behind because she had been collecting herbs nearby. She grabbed Snowkit and ran full speed home. Afterwords, Swiftstrike brought Luna home, becomeing her foster father. Flamepelt was delighted.

THE NEXT DAY

Snowkit had cobwebs all over her throat and was smelling strongly of herbs. Wolfspirit let Snowkit go back to the nursery and Emberstar and Swiftstrike came in to talk with Wolfspirit about Luna. Swiftstrike was against Luna having the names Crookkit, Crookedkit, Brokenkit, Scarkit, Bentkit, etc. and wants her warrior name to be Halfmoon, so Emberstar named her Halfkit. Halfkit went to the nursery and slept in Snowkit, Rabbitkit, Thistlekit and Clovertail's nest. All kits were delighted to have a new friend, but Halfkit and Snowkit are very close.
